We are looking for a technical leader who will be responsible for maintaining and developing the quality of services and projects carried out by the database administration team. 

The person in this position will manage a group of SQL Server database administrators and actively participate in the team’s work. The ratio of technical work to team management is 70/30.

Main responsibilities:

    In the area of team management:

  • Responsibility for maintaining the highest quality of services and projects in the field of SQL Server
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing the team of database administrators
  • Setting technical standards
  • Close cooperation with other teams on the client side and within the organization
  • Technical support for the Sales team in contact with the client and preparing offers
  • Supervision of the proper functioning of internal processes
  • Conducting recruitment processes in your team
  • Motivating team members and evaluating their professional achievements during development talks
    In the area of technical work:

  • Administration of SQL Server databases in Azure cloud (IaaS, PaaS) and on-premises (2008-2022) – configuration, troubleshooting, optimization, and ensuring continuity of operation in 365/7/24 mode
  • Implementing and maintaining Disaster Recovery and High Availability solutions
  • Planning and conducting migrations from on-premises environments to Microsoft Azure cloud
  • Maintaining up-to-date technical documentation
  • Conducting performance audits of databases
  • Identifying and resolving performance issues
  • Securing data through backup & recovery solutions
  • Administration of databases over 1TB
  • Monitoring database environments
  • Implementing projects in the area of SQL Server databases
  • Supporting data warehouses
  • Availability for on-call support (a few days a month)

Requirements:

  • Higher education in computer science or a related field
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in SQL Server database administration
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in team management (building engagement, delegating tasks, organizing department work, resolving conflicts)
  • Experience in administration and optimization of SQL Server databases (2008-2022) using QueryStore, Extended Events, SQL Profiler
  • Knowledge of DR and HA solutions for SQL Server along with examples of implementation scenarios
  • Presence in the Poznań office a few times a month to integrate and build relationships with the team
  • Knowledge of ITIL standards
  • English language proficiency at a minimum B2 level

We appreciate:

  • Experience in configuring and administering SSIS, SSAS, SSRS
  • Possession of Microsoft certifications (preferred DP-300, MCSA)
  • Knowledge of PowerShell
  • Familiarity with Windows Server or Linux operating systems
  • Experience in administering Oracle database systems and knowledge of PL/SQL
  • Knowledge of Zabbix, SCOM, or other tools used in system monitoring
  • Familiarity with dedicated SQL Server monitoring tools such as DBPLUS, Redgate Monitor, Idera
